When I decided I wanted to read “A walk to remember” , I had really high expectations; I said to myself “Another romance novel from my favorite author must be good.” When I ended it I had to admit it filled completely my expectations. One of the things that I most like about Nicholas Sparks is that he makes me empathize with the characters. He makes me feel their love , their pain, their sadness. That feeling of wanting an epic love, of changing, that feeling of wanting to be better.

The complete book is narrated from the voice of Landon. He was retelling his love story with Jamie, which I think makes it more emotional, because in each step of the story, we have the first hand emotions and thoughts from Landon . For example the first time he tells her he loves her, “I love you, Jamie,” I said to her. “You’re the best thing that ever happened to me.” You really feel that extraordinary feeling , those butterflies on the stomach, because we know he definitely means it and we are curious of what she does in response. Or when he realized that he was truly in love with Jamie, that girl that he couldn't stand, "I was in love, and the feeling was even more wonderful than I ever imagined it could be."

But not everything in this story is butterflies and roses. Por example when Jamie tells Landon that she was sick and was dying “You can’t be in love with me, Landon,”“Because,” she finally said softly, “I’m very sick, Landon.”The concept was so absolutely foreign that I couldn’t comprehend what she was trying to say. “So what? You’ll take a few days . . .” A sad smile crossed her face, and I knew right then what she was trying to tell me. Her eyes never left mine as she finally said the words that numbed my soul.“I’m dying, Landon.” From that moment my eyes started tearing up. How could Nicholas Sparks “kill” the character we all loved so much. And even worse what is going to happen with Landon ?

At the end of this book we understand the concept behind the name. Which I think is a very strong reason. At their wedding Landon narrates when Jamie was walking by (to) the altar to marry him, "It was, I remembered thinking, the most difficult walk anyone ever had to make. In every way, a walk to remember". Like this there are millions of more examples , probably the whole book .I think that is what kept me reading .
