Pippa Fitz-Amobi is a student who lives in Little Kilton, she is working on her EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) in which she decided to choose the subject of a murder that occurred many years ago in order to prove the innocence of the alleged murderer since that she used to know him and according to her he would never dare to do such a thing, so she tries to find every possible piece of evidence in order to prove his innocence.

"He would never hurt anyone, he was the noblest and kindest person I knew," says Pippa, referring to Sal Singh, the alleged murderer, which is why the fact that many people spoke ill of Sal bothered her, "jealousy took his girlfriend and him to the grave,” said Max Hastings, one of several of Sal's friends who turned against him the minute they heard the shocking news.

But not only the fact that Sal had been nice to Pippa was the reason why she wanted to prove that he was innocent, but seeing the constant criticism of the Singh family made her feel a deep sadness, especially towards Ravi Singh, Sal's brother who said, "I can't leave my house anymore without someone looking at me badly" and this is why Pippa decides to continue with the investigation about the supposed death of Andie Bell that was actually never really resolved.
